Manage the external vendor’s UX deliverable quality. The vendor was retained for site strategy and UX.


A beautiful, brand appropriate site with daily content with a design that is consistent with yet complementary to the magazine design.

Traffic to doubled since launch with the dramatic increase in content publishing frequency.
The site was nominated for Best Digital Design at the National Magazine Awards in June 2011.

My Role

  • Participant and eager learner in the presentations on ethnographic research and collaborative design workshop outcomes
  • Reviewed strategy documents with stakeholders
  • Pushed the vendor to deliver more detail in their wireframes within the current budget to make the document more helpful to the front end developers
  • Mediated between the vendor’s art director and our art director to create a better design than either would have produced independently
